this morning, i baked a whole slew (the more blog post appropriate word for ‘shite~load?’) of one of our fave fall ‘eats’ for evan’s fall class party…{which was an epic fail, by the way!…laughing!– i had no idea that so many preschoolers would be sporting such strong disdain for pears. –consider it filed away now.;)}
i love simple food concoctions, and it doesn’t get much more simple than the following. often, we leave our pears and accompanying toppings raw…but, it’s just as good baked– and the warmth makes it an ideal cold weather dessert.
what you’ll need:
- halved pears, seeds scooped from the middle sections
- almond butter
- chopped pecans
- cinnamon
- sea salt
what you’ll do:
- fill each pear half with almond butter
- sprinkle chopped pecans over each, pressing lightly into the almond butter
- sprinkle with cinnamon, followed by a very light sprinkling of sea salt
- bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until soft
enjoy!!!
